Estimate only — not legal advice, not a court order.

Every figure on this site is an estimate only — not legal advice, not a court order, and not a prediction of what any court will decide.

Courts can deviate from guidelines, impute income, add or apportion expenses, apply factor-based tests, and decide differently on the facts of an individual case. Guideline and advisory figures (Illinois, New York and Colorado maintenance; all child support calculators) are subject to deviation. Ceiling figures (Texas, Massachusetts and Florida alimony) are maximums, not awards — a court may award far less, or nothing. Total divorce-cost ranges are industry estimates from firm guides and surveys, not official statistics; no court publishes a “total divorce cost.”

Formulas, caps and thresholds change: several pages carry dated changes (for example Texas's September 2025 cap, New York's March 2026 caps, and Illinois's January 2027 shared-care change). Pages state “Last verified: October 2026.” A figure verified then may since have changed — check the official source linked on the page for a live case.

For advice about your own case, consult a licensed attorney in the relevant jurisdiction. If you rely on an estimate from this site and it differs from a court order or an attorney's calculation, the court order and the attorney's advice prevail.

Independent attorney review: pending. No attorney has reviewed this site yet, and no reviewer is named here until that review actually happens.
